If you go down to the woods today...

This month's training found us out on an area familiarisation trip down to the Basin where we were lucky enough to find a camp-fire still just smouldering enough (tsk tsk to the neglectful campers that left it but thanks anyway) for a top cup of billy tea.

For those that preferred a more modern beverage we were happy to provide instant Cappuccino replete with sprinkles :)

Fortified by morning tea we dealt swiftly with the raging camp-fire and it was back to station in time for a Code 3 and Meredith's home-cooked chicken tortilla soup with crusty bread made with Steve's own fair and clean hands.

Another joint training event this Sunday

Bucketty will be hosting a joint Village Firefighter training event this Sunday as part of our regular training schedule.

Commence 1000 [0930 for coffee] and Meredith is providing lunch for us all at the station afterwards. Please advise attendance by email so we have an idea of numbers.

A good day out

Thanks to DaveF, Rik, Ann, Lynne, Fran, JohnM, Shane, Steve & Meredith as well as all the crew from Laguna Brigade for such a good day out of MVA and HAZMAT training. Oh and thanks to the cows too [more of that on training update later.]

Much chagrin that Bucketty #1 crew were taken down by unknown WMD chemical agents [thankfully from which the cows demonstrated no ill effects]. However they were resurrected in time to suppress multiple vehicle fires and manage multiple casualties in the second scenario in conjunction with Laguna #7 Alpha and Laguna #9.

Thanks to Laguna Captain Paul & Brigade for putting on an excellent afternoon and lovely pizzas and much thanks go to the excellent unconscious bystanders [is it possible to be a lying-down bystander?], hidden casualties, drunk drivers & overly helpful citizens :))

Watch this space for more information of this coming weekend Village Firefighter skills training @ Bucketty station.

Bucketty #1 crew taking a spell from unconsciousness :)

A busy Saturday morning...

Saturday saw the Brigade responding to a smoke sighting North of the station which had Bucketty#9 and Bucketty#1 on the road, eventually tracking it down to an accidental ignition in a pile of leaves on a private property which was extinguished by the time we arrived.

En-route, Bucketty#9 came upon a single motorcycle MVA and managed the incident until ambulance was on-scene and the injured rider taken away. A busy morning for the crew and much thanks to DaveF, Eric, Ann and JohnM for the fast turn out.
