Short call-out for Bucketty #1

Bucketty 1 responded as far as the station driveway this evening as calls to a grass fire in Laguna area were investigated by our Deputy Group Captain with nil result. Still, given the heavy rains we were happy not to go out in it :) Thanks to all for turning out and staying on until the all-clear

Crews Out

Last nights weather change has bought welcome relief to Bucketty Brigade crew's, having been operational and on standby much of the past couple of weeks. Last night saw crews in 1 & 9 respond to Paynes Crossing only to respond back to Bucketty a couple of hours later as smoke filled the area from unknown source. Early morning patrol found nothing today and Bucketty 9 crew returned to assist at Paynes Crossing. See you back home safe later folks.

Yengo Ops

Bucketty #9 and crew took a couple of trips out to the far western edge of Lower Hunter over the weekend with sorties out on Sunday night to the Howes Valley Trail Fire [nice job SnrDC Dave & Stan] and all day Monday to the Nowllands Fire. There it was great to work with our friends from National Parks and crews from Wollombi and Mullbring, with Bucketty #9 having crew from Bucketty and Laguna on-board; great to work with you all folks, and an excellent result.

TOBAN Friday

A SEVERE fire danger has been posted for Friday 11th along with a TOTAL FIRE BAN from midnight for 24 hours.

Leaving early is the safest option for your survival.

Well prepared homes that are actively defended can provide safety – but only stay if you are physically and mentally prepared to defend in these conditions.

If you’re not prepared, leave early in the day.

Random start to the day...

Cat #9 crew @ station this morning.
Emotional rollercoaster as roller-door motor installers surprised us by turning up to start work. All very overwhelmed we were by our mysterious benefactor until we called their office to check and found out they should've been at Martin's Creek station instead :( Ah well easy come easy go :)

Closing down...

Bucketty Station closing down for the night; much thanks to all our Crews and Support for giving so much of their time on standby at the station today as well as to those members who remained on standby throughout the day at home.

Lunchtime update and all's well

34 degrees in the shade and 29% humidity but the winds have dropped since earlier today. All good here
