Bucketty 9 out and about...

Bucketty 9 headed out to Hungerford fire this evening, joining Lower Hunter Strike Team and NPWS crews from Bucketty depot for a night of sluggish back-burning. Big thanks to Sheen (pictured left) for the nice coffee on the fireground :)

EXTREME Fire Danger for Wednesday

EXTREME FIRE DANGER has been posted for tomorrow. Please review your Bush Fire Survival Plan and review the RFS information on fire dangers and what it means for you:

Leaving early is the safest option for your survival.

If you are not prepared to the highest level,
leave early in the day.

Only consider staying if you are prepared to the highest level – such as your home is specially designed, constructed or modified, and situated to withstand a fire, you are well prepared and can actively defend it if a fire starts.

With Thanks

I would just like to take a moment to recognise and give thanks to the Operational and Support Crews that have given their time and efforts over the last few weeks during some really ugly weather and TOBANS. Stand-by is not a glorious duty and it is often frustrating to hear our neighbouring Brigades responding to incidents and wanting to be out there with them lending assistance, but needing to stay to maintain our fire-protection locally. Thanks also to our community members and friends for your support, encouragement and vigilance on these bad days. They are set to continue and so too will we maintain our Service to you.
With thanks and kind regards,
Jerry
Captain
Bucketty & District Rural Fire Brigade
